Warburg Pincus Putting $355 Million into Clean Tech

Private equity firm Warburg Pincus has agreed to provide up to $355 million to First Green Partners, an investment company that will support renewable energy technologies. That’s according to Bloomberg.

First Green will focus on in early stage companies that convert non-food biomass and carbon dioxide into fuels and chemicals. Its initial investments will range from $500,000 to $10 million, the firm said.

Tom Erickson, general partner of BlueStream Ventures, and Doug Cameron, former chief science officer at Khosla Ventures, are First Green’s co-presidents.
